They worked hard to eliminate the Bible, prayer, singing hymns, and release time programs by public schools for religious education. The obvious intent was to eliminate parochial schools, by making the competition between public and private schools unequal. Those who disagree with the values taught in the public schools are forced to support them. Why were the Masons so intent on the destruction of parocial school? The intent of the Constution was to protect against any religion becoming the state, not the elimination of religious intruction.
