22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Every aspect of our salvation is a gift from God. Repentance and faith are gifts from God. The Righteousness of God is a gift from God. The Holy Spirit, which helps believers to produce the fruits of Righteousness, is a gift from God. The fruits of Righteousness themselves are gifts from God. Our salvation is one hundred percent the work of God's grace from start to finish, and man is in no position to boast about any aspect of his salvation. All the glory goes to God.(Romans 2:4, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 5:17, 2 Timothy 1:6-7, Philippians 1:11)
A true believer has become a good tree, and a good tree cannot produce bad fruit. However, this does not mean that a believer does not sin or cannot sin. A true believer does not want to sin in his spirit, but his flesh is still subject to temptation and sin. The power of the Gospel is such that when the believer sins, his sins are not counted against him, and he does not come under judgement or condemnation. (Matthew 17:17-18, Romans 8:1)
A true believer has the covering of God's Righteousness through God given faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is looking forward to enter the coming Kingdom of God in his new, immortal, resurrected, glorious body as the Bride of Christ, at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. In the meantime, the focus of the believer is to be filled with the fruits of God's Righteousness to the glory and praise of God.
