Talmud Instructions for the Sabbath

No Talmud book illustrates Christ's depictions of Pharisaism better than the book of Sabbath. He said: "Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat and swallow a camel." (Matthew 23:24)

One way to go raving crazy is to study the Talmud book of Sabbath with its rules on what is or what is not permissible on the Sabbath.

Concerning the Sabbath, even the digested laws, or Talmud Mishna in the Schulhan Aruch, take up 82 pages of Volume 2 (pages 63145). The sum and substance of all of them is a game of subversion. A rule is set up. "How many ways are there to get around it and nullify it?" That is the problem, leading to almost endless trivia and discussion.
