The Bible is quite clear about the fact that the ETERNAL [Yahweh] God [Elohim] is the Father of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was begotten directly of the Father, and He (Jesus) had no life until His beginning when He was born of His mother Mary.
Let's look at other areas that describe this relationship between the ETERNAL God and His Son, Jesus Christ:
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you laid hands on to kill and hanged on a tree. Him has God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. (Acts 5:30-31)
The "God of our fathers" is an expression that always refers to the ETERNAL [Yahweh], just as He introduced Himself to Moses by explaining that He was the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—the God of our fathers. Peter explained here that it was this same God who exalted Jesus Christ by placing Him at His (God's) right hand, and by making Him (Christ) a Prince and a Savior of mankind through the forgiveness of sins (as our Passover):
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Son Jesus, whom you delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate when he was determined to let him go. But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted to you. You killed the Prince of life, whom God has raised from the dead, whereof we are witnesses. (Acts 3:13-15) In these verses, Peter is clearly stating that Jesus Christ is the Son of the God of our fathers: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Jesus Christ, in His own words, makes it clear who His Father is. He too quoted one of the verses that Peter used when explaining some of the same things:
While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, saying, "What do you think of Christ [the Messiah]? Whose son is he?" Then they said to him, "The Son of David. " He said to them, "How is it then that David in spirit [for David was a prophet] calls him Lord, saying, 'The LORD [the ETERNAL—Yahweh] said unto my [David's] Lord, "Sit thou on my right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool? "' If David then calls him Lord, how is fa his [David's] son?" And no man was able to answer him a word, neither dared any man from that day forth ask him any more questions. (Matthew 22:41-46)
The whole point that Jesus Christ was making to the Pharisees was that David (as a prophet inspired in the spirit) wrote in the Psalms that the coming Messiah was his Lord. Therefore the Messiah could not be the son of David. Only the ETERNAL could be His (the Messiah's) Father.
The apostle Paul also quoted from the Old Testament writings to make it clear that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that Christ is now God—in the God Family:
God [the only God known to the Israelites—Yahweh], who at different times and in many ways spoke in time past to the fathers through the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us through His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds [ages to come], [It is through Jesus Christ that God will fulfill His plan for mankind.] Who being the brightness of His [God's] glory, and the express image of His substance, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He [Jesus Christ] had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. Who being made so much better than the angels, as Ffe has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than them. For to which of the angels did He say at any time, "You are My Son, this day have I begotten you? " And again, "I will be to him a Father, and H_e shall be to Me a Son? " And again, when He brings in the first begotten into the world, He [God] said, "And let all the angels of God worship him [Jesus Christ]. " And of the angels He says, "Who makes His angels spirit, and His ministers a flame of fire [the angels were made spirit beings, but Jesus Christ was made God]. " But to the Son He says, "Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom. " (Hebrews 1:1-8) There are so many scriptures that make it clear the ETERNAL ONE (Yahweh) is the Father of Jesus Christ that it is difficult to imagine anyone could believe otherwise.
In one last example, Paul again is very specific concerning what he is saying about this matter even as he quotes the very scripture he is explaining:
But God raised him [Paul was speaking of Christ] from the dead. Then Lfe was seen for many days by those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people. And we are declaring to you this good news [Gk - gospel], how that the promise which was made to the fathers, God has fulfilled the same unto us their children in that He has raised up Jesus again, as it is also written in the second psalm, "You [Christ] are My [Yahweh] Son, this day have I begotten you. " (Acts 13:30-33) Notice the scripture Paul quoted:
"Yet have I set My king upon My holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree, " the ETERNAL ONE [Yahweh] has said to me [Christ], "You are My Son; this day have I begotten you. " (Psalm 2:6-7)
