While our politically correct culture is quick to denounce anyone who shows the slightest insensitivity to homosexuals and most other groups, Christians again receive no such respect. In fact, the culture revels in anti-Christian art and theater, and in various other ways disrespects Christianity and the things it holds sacred. For eight years, during the Christmas season, Planned Parenthood has been promoting "Choice on Earth" Christmas cards, adapted from the biblical text "Peace on Earth." The phrase is derived from Luke 2:13-14, "And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." Pro-life advocates argue that the Christmas message was being degraded into "Abortion on Earth."
Jim Sedlak, of STOPP International, a project of American Life League, said, "What choice on Earth' really means is abortion on Earth: In the season that celebrates the birth of Jesus, it is absolutely outrageous to have cards celebrating the death of babies." For the 2002 Christmas season, Planned Parenthood decided to expand the use of the logo by affixing it to T-shirts as well. Sedlak denounced the move. "Instead of apologizing to Christians for distorting a scripture verse referring to the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, Planned Parenthood president Gloria Feldt has decided to use this offensive message to sell merchandise."
