Both Catholics and Orthodox Christians adhere to this doctrine of God. The Eastern liturgy suggests how God as three persons can be experienced to some small degree by thinking about love: "Let us love one another in order that we may confess the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Trinity, one in being, and undivided." If we love someone we are united with them in a special way. Since God is perfect, then his love will also be perfect. The union among the persons in God will thus be so perfect that they will be united as one.
