was executed for trying to usurp David's wishes that Solomon be king. Joab was executed for shedding the blood of war in peace on Abner and Amasa. Benaiah executed Abner after David's death for this. Shimei cursed David when Absalom revolted against him. Shimei was executed for this later.

The LORD was angry with Solomon because he worshipped other gods (Ashtoreth of the Sidonians, Chemosh of the Moabites and Milcom of Ammon) and kept not the LORD's covenant and statutes so the LORD tore the kingdom in two and rose up adversaries to perplex Solomon.

A man of God cried against the false altars of Jeroboam and was commanded to eat no bread or water until he came home. The man of God disobeyed and was slain by a lion for not keeping the commandment of God. After Jeroboam and the 10 northern tribes of Israel succeeded from Rehoboam and the rest of the kingdom (1 Kings 12), Jeroboam set up a false religious system (1 Kings 12:25-33). King Ahaziah, Son of Ahab, fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber and was sick. He inquired of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether he would live.
